About the role:
We are seeking a dynamic Finance Assistant to join our fast-paced finance team. In this role, you will support our financial reporting efforts by managing daily bank reconciliations, processing customer credit card receipts, preparing VAT returns, and assisting with various month-end activities. Your attention to detail and ability to thrive in a busy environment will be essential to our success.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare daily / weekly reconciliations of bank accounts, customer credit card receipts and other income.
- Preparation of fixed asset reconciliation and preparation of month end duties
- Support the processing of staff (expenses) and company credit cards
- Support external reporting requirements such as VAT return preparation
- Support internal reporting requirements such as month end management accounts
- Prepare cost centre reports
- Monitoring of cash positions
- Prepare other ad hoc external reporting requirements e.g. National Statistics
- Prepare and manage other daily book keeping tasks as requested from time to time e.g. petty cash
- Assist Senior Finance Manager on other items, as requested from time to time
- Support with delivery of year end accounts to the auditors
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and commercial enhancement
Requirements:
Essential
- Experience in comparable finance team roles, must be part qualified accountant (AAT, CAT, CIMA or ACCA)
- Proficiency in Excel (Vlookup, pivot tables, SUMIFS,)
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in partnering with stakeholders
- Self-motivated with exemplary organisational skills, able to multi -task and manage their own work
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail is essential
- Experience of working with general ledger systems, ideally Intact IQ
