Reports to: Superintendent Pharmacist
Location: North London DC
Shift pattern: 5 days per week, 8.5 hours per day with 30 mins unpaid lunch, scheduled either Sunday to Thursday or Monday to Friday, between the hours of 7am and 7pm
About the role:
We’re looking for a dedicated and proactive Pharmacy Manager to lead pharmacy operations at our brand-new Distribution Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to join from day one, helping to shape a new site and team while ensuring the seamless delivery of pharmacy services from the ground up.
You’ll be responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving key performance metrics, and ensuring full compliance with GPhC and UK regulatory standards. Working closely with the Superintendent Pharmacist and wider leadership team, you’ll manage dispensing, inventory control, and overall team performance - including the line management, development, and support of pharmacists and dispensary staff - all while maintaining the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and patient care.

Responsibilities:
- Own and report pharmacy KPIs daily to Superintendent Pharmacist; including but not limited to: Orders Completed, Orders not Completed, Issue Log, Returns, Productivity
 - Ensure compliance with relevant UK pharmacy regulations set forth by UK Regulatory bodies (GPhC)
 - Oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations including dispensing prescriptions, inventory management, quality control procedures, health & safety and productivity management
 - Provide training, guidance and support to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
 - Supervision of pharmacists, including providing leadership, guidance, and ongoing performance monitoring to ensure compliance with professional, ethical, and operational standards.
 - Support the recruitment, onboarding and training of new pharmacy staff to ensure a smooth integration.
 - Accountable for pharmacy security, including responding in person to emergency call-outs outside normal hours and key holding responsibilities following probation
 - Responsible for pharmacy operations inventory control to minimise both discrepancies and loss prevention
 - Collaborate with Superintendent Pharmacist, Operations Director and Head of Quality/Responsible Person to ensure all regulatory risks within the pharmacy environment are identified, managed and removed
 - Maintain accurate records of pharmacy transactions, prescriptions and regulatory documentation
 - Ensure confidentiality and security of patient information
 - Support contingency plans for disaster recovery to ensure continuity of service
 - Responsible for the daily productivity of sales orders migrating through pharmacy and Distribution Centre, ensuring customer service expectation levels are maintained continuously
 
- Oversee staff resourcing to ensure appropriate coverage during annual leave and absence
 
Requirements:
Essential:
- Bachelor of Pharmacy or MPharm degree
 - Registered UK Pharmacist with valid license to operate
 - In-depth knowledge of pharmacy regulations (GPhC)
 
- Previous experience working in a GDP-compliant environment, ensuring medicines are stored, handled, and distributed in accordance with MHRA and EU GDP guidelines.
 
- Proven leadership experience, including line management of pharmacists and dispensary teams
 - Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
 - Excellent attention to detail with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
 - Proficient in Microsoft Office software packages
 - Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
 - Demonstrate leadership capabilities including the ability to mentor, inspire and motivate team members
 - Flexible to commute across all Healthxchange facilities
 - Flexible to work across the 7am-7pm shift
